Beginner’s Botanical Embroidery Workshop

Saturday, June 29,        10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

Have you felt the itch to stitch?  Join us for a fun and relaxing hand embroidery workshop with Layne from Curious Thing!  You’ll learn six basic stitches while working on an exclusive succulent or cactus pattern (your choice!) designed just for this class.  We’ll also discuss hoops, needles, floss, and fabric, as well as options for finishing and hanging your completed piece (5″ hoop).  All of the supplies and hands-on instruction necessary will be provided to get you started on your new favorite hobby.

$45 per person — registration via PayPal.  Please note that if you pause during registration and the PayPal system times you out, registration isn’t complete.  Registration is only complete once PayPal sends you a payment confirmation email and our workshop system sends you a registration confirmation email.  For any questions, please email

About the Maker:

San Diego native, Layne Daniels is a long-time practitioner of embroidery and needlework, and is the recent founder of Curious Thing, a jewelry company focused on merging traditional embroidery techniques with modern and unconventional designs.  With a lengthy background in art and graphic design, Layne brings a unique eye to a traditional medium and aims to share her artistic approach with all of her students.  Layne splits her time between San Diego, CA and Austin, TX and is usually found in her garden gathering inspiration for future projects with her husband and two dogs.  Follow her at @curiousthing_atx
